| More About Jim |
| Fort Wayne native Jim Anderson had planned a career in music. But while working at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo during college vacation he got "the zoo bug." So he switched majors, graduated with a degree in animal science & continued working at the zoo. Fifteen years later he was named Zoo Director. |
"I
think I have the best job in the city of Fort Wayne. I work at
a place that does so many great things for the community and offers
an attraction that a half-million people enjoy each year.
I also get to work with a talented and dedicated group of co-workers and volunteers. We try to enjoy our jobs as much as possible. Zoo people are always busy, and there is always something new going on at the zoo.
Although I generally spend more time on my computer and telephone than I do wrestling snakes, I get involved in many different parts of the zoo’s operation.
