Spring Break Day Camp Descriptions
Age 3
Zoo Tots
Help your 3-year old discover the
wonders under the sea by exploring the exhibit together. Fee
includes one adult and one child.

Age 4-5
Kazoos
Preschoolers ages 4-5 get to know tropical
fish, sharks and jelly fish through songs, games, crafts,
and a peek behind the scenes. This is not a parent-child
class. |
Age 6-12
Frogs & Polliwogs
Frogs & Polliwogs is an adventure-filled program for
children ages 6-12 years old. Dive into the
wet and wild world of frogs and polliwogs. Camouflage and
adaptations are just a few of the things your child will
learn while spending the day with us here at the zoo. We
will venture around the zoo, go behind the scenes, make new
friends, and learn about the animal kingdom. We will also
play games, sing songs, and go on our own toad hunt.
Zoo Cats Zoo Cats is
a program for children ages 6-12 years old.
Join us for a fun-filled day exploring the wonderful world
of large cats!! Make a craft, share some creative writing,
play games, sing songs, and make a special gift for our
feline friends.
Under the Sea
Under the Sea is a fun-filled program for children
ages 6-12 years old. Take a journey under the sea
and learn about some of our wet zoo residents. Meet a real
scientific diver and visit behind the scenes. You might even
get to eat lunch with a shark! Our day will also include
games and crafts.

18 - 36 months with Adult
Walkin' & Rollin'
a fun-filled 2 -1/2 hr. program for children ages 18
mos. to 3 years with adult. Every day we will
venture through a different area of the zoo, exploring with
our new friends and learning about the animal kingdom. We
will ride rides, play games, sing songs, meet animal friends
and even make something special to take home. |
Age 3-4 with Adult
Me & You at the Zoo
A fun-filled 2 - 1/2 hr. program for children ages
3-4 years with adult. Everyday we will venture
through a different area of the zoo, exploring with our new
friends and learning about the animal kingdom. We will ride
rides, play games, sing songs, meet animal friends and even
make something special to take home.

Age 4-5
Animal Alphabet
A fun-filled half day program for children ages 4-5
years. They will be learning about the animals at
the zoo, with an emphasis on the letters of the alphabet.
Every day we will venture through a different area of the
zoo, exploring with our new friends and learning about the
animal kingdom. We will ride rides, play games, sing songs,
and even make something special to take home.

Age 5-6
Rumble in the Jungle
A fun-filled program for children ages 5-6 years.
We will learn about the mysteries of the animal world.
We’ll focus on camouflage and adaptations during our week
at the zoo. Every day, we will venture through a different
area of the zoo, exploring with our hands and senses, making
new friends and learning about the animal kingdom. We will
ride rides, play games, sing songs, and even make something
special to take home.
Who's Who at the Zoo
A fun-filled program for children ages 5-6 years.
What’s a bird? What’s a reptile, a mammal, an amphibian and
a fish? How do we tell them apart? Every day we will venture
through a different area of the zoo, exploring with our
hands, making new friends and learning about the animal
kingdom. We will ride rides, play games, sing songs, and
even make something special to take home.

Age 7-8
Design a Zoo
A fun-filled program for children ages 7-8 years.
We will explore the reasons we have zoos: Education,
Recreation, Conservation, and Research. Participants will go
behind the scenes at the zoo, observe how the zoo operates,
meet the many people who work here, and discover how we
create exhibits. Campers will work together to create their
own exhibit and zoo. Every day we will venture through a
different area of the zoo, exploring with our new friends.
We will ride rides, play games, sing songs, and even make
something special to take home.
World Traveler
A fun-filled program for children ages 7-8 years.
They will be learning about the animals and cultures from
all around the world. We will learn to speak as if
Australian, play games and sing songs from Africa, and even
try a snack or two from another country. Every day we will
venture through a different area of the zoo, exploring with
our hands, making new friends and learning about the animal
kingdom and the country they come from. We will ride rides,
play games, sing songs, and even make something special to
take home.

Age 9-10
Survivor
A fun-filled program for children ages 9-10 years.
Can your camper outlearn, outplay, and outdiscover the other
campers? This action-packed camp has something for everyone.
Each day campers will discover a different area of the zoo
and investigate different topic, including predator/prey
relationships, camouflage, and adaptations. Campers will
take information they learn throughout the morning to help
them with fun challenges in the afternoon.
Zoo Detective
A fun-filled program for children ages 9-10 years.
With the “Who did it?” theme, campers will solve an animal
mystery by gathering clues, conducting experiments, and
venturing through the zoo in search of answers. Campers will
be exploring all areas of the zoo, riding rides (this does
not include ponies), and meeting new friends. We create a
new mystery every year!

Age 8-12
Animal Artist
Does your child age 8-12 years like to
draw, paint, or sculpt AND love animals? This camp is for
you! While we will visit the zoo every day, most of our time
will be spent learning about the animals they have chosen
for their projects. Campers will fine tune their art skills
and leave with some really cool projects, including
sketching, painting, print making, sculpture, and more.
Projects will be on display Friday afternoon.
Animal Actors
Has your child age 8-12 years been bitten
by the acting bug? Join us as we present a one-of-a-kind
Animal Conservation Play. Everyone plays an important role,
whether working behind the scenes creating props or on the
stage showing off their stuff. Campers will visit the zoo,
but most of their time will be spent working as a team to
learn about drama and prepare for Friday’s presentation of
the play.

Age 11-12
Animal Training 101
A learning program for campers ages 11-12 years.
We will explore the hows and whys of animal training in many
ways. Campers will even train an animal themselves! We will
observe keepers as they train animals and have a chance to
talk with some trainers. We will also visit behind the
scenes, and get our hands dirty, and participate in a
training competition.Junior Zoo Keepers
A learning program for campers ages 11-12 years. Ever wonder
what it’s like to be a keeper? Campers will be getting dirty
as they spend the week in the role of zookeeper. We will
clean, fix and deliver food, explore animal training,
conduct research, travel behind the scenes, and much more.
Thursday includes a late arrival 12:30 p.m. and an overnight
at the zoo. Overnight includes a pizza party, night hike,
and much more.
