|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 11:00am on Saturday, happening 2 times

frog watch USA zoo conservation

Join our grassroots conservation program! FrogWatch USA is a citizen science program that allows individuals and families to learn about the wetlands in their communities and help conserve amphibians by observing and reporting the calls of local frogs and toads. Many previously abundant frog and toad populations have experienced dramatic population declines both in the United States and around the world and it’s essential that scientists understand the scope, geographic scale, and cause of these declines.

All are welcome to attend our FrogWatch USA training. Families, adults, teens, groups – anyone can help gather important information about amphibians in the Fort Wayne area and contribute to real conservation efforts!

Training classes will be held in the lower level of the Zoo Education Center (ZEC). Bring a sack lunch or snack.

There is no fee to attend and you need only attend ONE of the classes.

To register for the training or get more information, contact the Zoo Volunteer Office at 260-427-6828 or volunteer@kidszoo.org. You’ll be a part of real effort to preserve the natural wonders in your own back yard.
