Frog Watch Training

Date: Feb 15 2014
Time: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Join our grassroots conservation program! FrogWatch USA is a citizen science program that allows individuals and families to learn about the wetlands in their communities and help conserve amphibians by reporting the calls of local frogs and toads.

All are welcome to attend our FrogWatch USA training. Families, adults, teens, groups – anyone can help gather important information about amphibians in the Fort Wayne area and contribute to real conservation efforts!

At a training class, you’ll learn how to identify frogs by their calls. You’ll then visit local wetlands on your own to collect data about the frogs and toads present.

Training classes will be held at the zoo’s Discovery Classroom on two Saturdays:  February 15 and  March 1, 2014, from 11 AM – 3 PM.  Bring a sack lunch or snack.  There is no fee to attend and you need only attend ONE of the classes. To register for the training or get more information, contact the Zoo Volunteer Office at 260-427-6828 or volunteer@kidszoo.org. You’ll be a part of real effort to preserve the natural wonders in your own back yard.
