Zoobilee 2010
Zoobilee 2010 Guests go Into the Night! On June 18, the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo entertained more than 330 people at our annual Zoobilee 2010 gala fundraiser. With the theme Into the Night, guests were guided by emcee Terra Brantley and DJ Ace McKay as they explored a “bat cave” to win a black onyx diamond ring from Peter Franklin Jewelers, enjoyed a delicious dinner from Club Soda and appetizers from Chop’s Steaks & Seafood, and bid on unique auction items such as a helicopter ride to Indianapolis for dinner, a party in the African Journey Lion’s Den, and an experience with Jack Hanna at the Columbus Zoo. Though the spectacular evening was cut short by Mother Nature’s powerful storms, our generous attendees bid enthusiastically during the live auction. Bidding on some items continued for several weeks after the event! We are grateful for the unfailing support of all our donors. The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo is completely self-supporting. The zoo receives no tax dollars to assist with operations or improvements. Proceeds from Zoobilee 2010 will help fund year round educational programs, assist those financially unable to attend the zoo, and help take care of the animals throughout the year. Zoobilee 2011 will be held June 17 at the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo.
