Zoobilee Raises Record $146,000

On June 20, the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo entertained more than
320 people at Zoobilee 2008 – The Big Chill.
This year guests “chilled out” and enjoyed an evening filled with
fun, food, and fundraising! The gala was a big success, raising
more than $146,000 for the zoo’s education, conservation, and
recreation programs. Zoobilee guests dined on delicious food
from Club Soda and Chop’s Steak & Seafood as they enjoyed
entertainment by the Mossburg Strings and DJ Charly Butcher. Unique
auction items were available throughout the night, such as your
child’s picture on a banner at the zoo entrance, a catered dinner in
Orangutan Valley, and a personal celebrity mascot party in your home
with Icy, K’Zoo, and the Mad Ant!
The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo is completely self-supporting,
receiving no tax money for operations or improvements. Funds
raised at Zoobilee 2008 – The Big Chill,
as well as all other earned and donated revenue, are vital to the
zoo’s future.
We would like to extend our thanks to the many the generous
sponsors, individuals and donors that made Zoobilee 2008
– The Big Chill a huge success!
