The ultimate family adventure! ”Sleep With the Sharks” at the zoo.  Register online or print a registration form.

Aug 22 Zoo Brew & Wine Too

beer in glassSample dozens of beers, wines, and food from local breweries, wineries, and restaurants while listening to live music and enjoying the zoo at this not-to-be missed fundraising event.  Tickets go on sale in May at kidszoo.org.

Please note the following changes to regular zoo hours due to Zoo Brew & Wine Too:

    • Entire zoo closes at Noon
    • Zoo grounds close at 1 PM

 

Aug 23 Animal Enrichment Workshop

Adults, children, families, and groups can assist in creating objects to stimulate animals’ interest and encourage natural behaviors at an Animal Enrichment Workshop.

Individuals need not register ahead of time and no previous training is required; just arrive at 10:00 a.m. ready to work. Group leaders should call the zoo’s Volunteer Office at 260-427-6828 at least one week in advance, with the ages and number of people in the group.

Workshops meet from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon in the Diehm Museum, across the street from the zoo.

Sep 18 Drive You Wild Golf Outing

September 18, 2014

The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo’s 12th annual Drive You Wild Golf Outing will be September 18, 2014 at Cherry Hill Golf Club.  Participants will enjoy lunch, golf, “wild” activities on each hole and a delicious dinner. 

The Children’s Zoo is completely self-supporting.  All costs of operations, programs, and improvements are covered by earned revenue and donations.  Events like Drive You Wild are important for the future of the Zoo.

Oct 8 Little Turtle AAZK Lecture Series

Everyone is invited to come and join us!  This lecture series is sponsored by the Little Turtle Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers.

Speaker – Jason Kissel, Executive Director

Where – Lower Level Diehm Museum

The zoo closes for the 2014 season at 5:00 PM today.

Oct 17 Wild Zoo Halloween

It’s Halloween fun for your little one!  The whole family will enjoy tons of pumpkins, two mazes, Broomhilda the witch, the Monster Mash Dance Party, live animal shows, and more, plus kids get treats and their own mini-pumpkin from the Pumpkin Patch!  Fee charged.
