The Sulawesi forest turtle is native to the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. They can be found in cool mountain streams in the forests on the northern side of the island.
I AM AN OMNIVORE
This turtle species feeds on a variety of vegetation and fruit, as well as some invertebrates.

The Sulawesi forest turtle is a solitary species. They interact briefly only for mating.
ONE OF A KIND
This rare turtle species is native to the island of Sulawesi off the southeast coast of Indonesia. This is the only place in the world they are found naturally in the wild.

Because so little is known about this turtle species, their feces is often the object of study to learn more about them. Scientists have even founds insect that have yet to be identified in their fecal samples.
