What started out as a rehabilitation facility for African vultures has transformed into a wide-spread organization that continues to monitor released vultures to ensure their safety and survival in their environment. They use GPS transmitters to observe vulture movement patterns and behavior after rehabilitation and release.
Why do they need our support?
At one point, vultures were widespread and living in abundance in Africa. However, over the last few decades, habitat loss and human-related conflict have caused a decrease in numbers across all African vulture species. Of the eleven species of vultures living in Africa, seven are either endangered or critically endangered.
