About

I LIVE IN THE PACIFIC

The tasselled wobbegong is a shark species native to the tropical waters of the southwest Pacific Ocean, staying close to areas with coral reefs where they can blend into their surroundings.

I AM A CARNIVORE

The tasselled wobbegong eats a variety of fish and invertebrates that could be found living near the ocean floor. Occasionally they will consume other sharks as well.

TASSELLED WOBBEGONGS ARE SOCIAL

Tasselled wobbegongs have been known to gather in groups. They will spend much of their time resting on their ocean floor as they lie in wait for smaller fish and invertebrates to swim past.

AWESOME ADAPTATIONS

Their splotchy coloration and fringed sides help the tasselled wobblegong blend in perfectly with the coral reef. They will often wave their tails from side to side to mimic smaller fish and lure other aquatics species in.
