Welcome back. I can’t wait to meet you!
A year ago at this time, I was quarantined in my San Diego home
with my family of five. The kids were home from school and after
34 years working for SeaWorld, I was furloughed. As we sat
around our dining room table playing cards together, watching
movies, and trying to find things to do, I remember wondering,
“What does the future hold?” COVID-19 had impacted our family.
But my story is probably no surprise and might even be similar to
yours or someone you know. My story, however, ends with the
start of a new career at the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo.
When I first visited the Zoo, I was impressed by its beauty—the
landscaping, the running brooks and waterfalls, and the natural
animal exhibits. There were fun rides and amazing animals.
The team was passionate about animal care and conservation.
The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo is absolutely beautiful and has
incredible heart. I’m happy to be one of the newest members of
the team.
I have now experienced my first fall, winter, and spring in Fort
Wayne, along with some unusual weather. Three days before we
opened, it snowed, but it’s been a wonderful experience. And,
unlike a year ago, the Zoo is now open and I can’t wait to see you!
I’m sure you are as excited as I am to begin a new season. So,
come on out to the Zoo! We are open and I’m looking forward to
meeting you. Make sure to introduce yourself!
