Why do they need our support?

Orangutans are only found on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra of Indonesia. Orangutans have lost about half of their populations in the last 50 years because of habitat loss due to logging and the expansion of palm oil plantations and human settlements. Orangutans are also popular within the illegal pet trade.

How is the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo helping?

The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo is a proud financial supporter of the Orangutan Conservancy and their mission to protect and preserve wild orangutans.
