Global Initiative – Headquarters in New York, United States
The Wildlife Conservation Society is an organization that works to conserve wild places all across the globe. They prioritize 14 different regions around the globe that are home to about 50% of the world’s diverse flora and fauna. They work with a variety of people with a variety of expertise to gather research and drive conservation action.
Why do they need our support?
Human expansion and interaction have caused hundreds of species around the world to experience rapid decline in numbers. Many of these species play integral roles in their ecosystems and their disappearance would negatively impact their ecosystems.
How is the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo helping?
The Zoo is proud to financially support the Wildlife Conservation Society for shark and stingray conservation programs. The goal of WCS is to prevent extinction and halt decline of these important groups of species.
