Why do they need our support?

The South African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal birds works diligently to protect and preserve the African penguin, Africa’s only remaining penguin species. 20 years ago, there were more than 50,000 pairs of African penguins living in southern Africa. Today there are only 14,000 pairs remaining and this penguin species is officially listed as endangered.

How is the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo helping?

The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo is a proud financial supporter of the South African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds as they work to assist with the rehabilitation of seabirds exposed to pollution and natural disasters.
