Why do they need our support?

The Turtle Survival Alliance works to conserve 20 different tortoise and freshwater turtle species, most of which are critically endangered. Many of these species are at risk of habitat loss, captured for the illegal pet trade, or are injured in fishing gear.

How is the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo helping?

The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo is a proud financial supporter of the Turtle Survival Alliance, whose funds help their partners work in turtle diversity hotspots across the globe. The Zoo has supported and collaborated on projects working to preserve the critically endangered radiated tortoise populations in Madagascar.
