World Parrot Trust (3)Global Initiative – Main Headquarters in Cornwall, United Kingdom

Founded in 1989, the World Parrot Trust aims to prevent parrot populations from reaching extinction. What started out as a smaller organization has grown into a worldwide initiative with conservation projects in over 40 countries. Not only does the World Parrot Trust strive to support many different conservation projects, but they also work to educate people on the importance of parrot conservation.

Why do they need our support?

Currently there are 16 different parrot species that are listed as Critically Endangered and many more are under threat. Parrots are very popular within the pet trade, and almost half of all parrots captured for the pet trade die in transit from their native countries. Parrots that are not sold into the pert trade are threatened by habitat loss.
