Join our grassroots conservation program! FrogWatch USA is a citizen science program that allows individuals and families to learn about the wetlands in their communities and help conserve amphibians by observing and reporting the calls of local frogs and toads. Many previously abundant frog and toad populations have experienced dramatic population declines both in the United States and around the world and it’s essential that scientists understand the scope, geographic scale, and cause of these declines.

All are welcome to attend our FrogWatch USA training. Families, adults, teens, groups – anyone can help gather important information about amphibians in the Fort Wayne area and contribute to real conservation efforts!

There is no fee to attend and you need only attend ONE of the classes. Training dates are February 8 and 15. Classes will take place in the lower level of the Zoo Education Center.

Attendees must be at least 8 years old to participate. Please bring a sack lunch and beverage as we work straight through. Class is education based and participants must pass a written and auditory test to become certified. Pre-registration is required – please contact our Superintendent of Volunteers at (260) 427-6828 or with the full names of attendees and which class you’d like to attend.
