Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo is pleased to participate in the community wide, Write-a-Will project that provides FREE estate planning for those who choose to leave a charitable bequest in their will.
With over 20 nonprofit organizations participating, this community wide event was created as an opportunity for our community members who need a first will to have one prepared free of charge, often providing a family up to $1,000 in legal savings.
What is Write-a-Will Week?
Led by the Charitable Gift Planners of Northeast Indiana, Write-a-Will Week is a community wide event that offers an opportunity to sit down with an attorney who has volunteered their time to prepare a Simple Will. There is no minimum gift that needs to be written in your will to participate. Simple Wills that contain at least one charitable bequest for the nonprofit organization of your choice will be written for FREE.
With a focus on “strengthening families”, we know how important it can be to have access to creating a will. For parents, making a will is the single most important thing you can do to make sure your child is cared for by the people you would choose if anything should happen to you. Having a last will and testament legally protects both your spouse and your children.

When can I make an appointment?
Working with our volunteer attorney, the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo has appointments available Monday, October 21 and Tuesday, October 22. Appointments are scheduled in 30-minute increments. Call 260.427.6800 x153 or email clarissa.reis@kidszoo.org to schedule your free and confidential appointment.
Mon, October 21: appointments available from 1pm – 5pm.
Tues, October 22: appointments available from 8am-12pm and 1pm – 5pm.
To make it as easy as possible for those who would like to participate, we have in person and virtual appointments available.

October 18 is the deadline for signing up.
