FORT WAYNE CHILDREN’S ZOO: SEASONAL STAFF POSITIONS

  • Seasonal or part-time positions, April through December
  • 15 to 40 hours per week

Education Interpreter: Education Interpreters enhances the guest experience at some of the zoo’s most popular exhibits by providing exciting information about the animals, insight into their care, and relevant conservation messaging. Education Programs Counselor: Education Programs Counselors deliver hands-on educational programming through the discovery of animals, nature, conservation, and more during the zoo’s most popular Kids for Nature Summer Camp or Teens for Nature Leadership programs. Education Programs Counselors provide support and supervision to program participants while contributing to positive guest experiences. High school diploma or GED is required. One to two years of experience teaching or program planning is preferred. 40-hour per week availability is required, weekdays June through July. Click here for a full job description. Apply here.

Guest Services Associate: Guest Services Associates welcome guests into the zoo by performing admission, membership, and other point of sale transactions at the zoo entrance. High school diploma, cash handling experience, and previous retail experience are preferred. Horticulture Associate: Horticulture Associates performs work necessary to provide a clean, vibrant, and healthy landscaped environment for zoo guests to enjoy. High school diploma or GED is required. Must be at least 18 years of age. Click here for a full job description. Apply here.

Operations Associate: Operations Associates provide guests safe and memorable experiences by operating and assisting at zoo rides, as well as ensuring a safe and clean environment by performing housekeeping and cleaning duties throughout the zoo. Operations Associate: Bamboo Forest: Bamboo Forest Operations Associates provide guests safe and memorable experiences by focusing on harnessing and general course safety as guests climb, swing, and balance high above the zoo in our two story ropes course. Operations Associate: Facepainting: Facepainting Operations Associates provide guests safe and memorable experiences by assisting at the facepainting experience. Previous guest service, hospitality, or retail experience is preferred. Click here for a full job description. Apply here.

Operations Shift Lead: Operations Shift Leads assist the leadership team with day-to-day operations; assists with ride operations, janitorial operations, and other daily operations; and performs Operations Associate duties and supports team members as needed. Security Ranger: Security Ranger performs multiple duties throughout the zoo including perimeter and gate checks, clearing the zoo of daytime guests, monitoring zoo grounds during and after hours, and preserving the safety of guests, animals, and property. One year of previous security, guest service, loss prevention, or hospitality experience and high school diploma or GED are required. CPR/AED certification and EMT experience is preferred. Food Service Associate: Food Service Associates help concession stands, carts, and picnics deliver quality food and beverages for Zoo guests during their visit. Apply here. 

Gift Shop Sales Associate: Gift Shop Sales Associates welcome and assist guests during their visits to the Wild Things Gift Shop, stroller rental, and retail locations inside the Zoo. Apply here.

The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo is northeast Indiana’s largest tourist attraction and well-loved community treasure, welcoming more than 600,000 guests each year and consistently named as one of the nation’s Top Ten Zoos for Kids by national media outlets.
