Spring Break Camp

Science meets fun at our educational camp programs!

Tuesday, April 2

Wild Wardrobe: Fur, feathers, scales, or prickly spines, our animals are “dressed” in all types of coverings.  Discover the variety of covers found here while walking through the Zoo, learn why they have them, talk to Keepers, and create your own animal cover to take with you.  Bring a sack lunch, something to drink and dress to go outside, rain or shine.

8:30AM – 3:00PM; $45 per session

Wednesday, April 3

We like to Move It, Move It: Our Zoo animals like to move it, move it, and so do we!  Join us as we explore different areas of the Zoo (including the Commissary, can’t move without food!), talk with a Keeper, investigate how the animals move and, of course, see if we can do it, do it too. Bring a sack lunch, something to drink and dress to go outside, rain or shine.

8:30AM – 3:00PM; $45 per session

Thursday, April 4

Animal Designs: Discover the artistic flair for colors and designs that our animals exhibit daily.  Use a scientific approach to determine if the reasons behind the bright colors or toned-down pattern are for protection, camouflage, or adaptations to survive.  Walk the Zoo to look at the animals, talk to Keepers and create a “colorful display” to benefit the animals in your own backyard. Bring a sack lunch, something to drink and dress to go outside, rain or shine.

8:30AM – 3:00PM; $45 per session
