Spend a WILD week at the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo! You’ll explore the zoo, visit friendly animals, meet zookeepers and make new friends in this unique summer adventure.

Zoo Explorers: You and your preschooler explore the excitement that is the Zoo! Interact with animals, go behind the scenes, and move like the animals do across the Zoo. Adult participants will receive a complimentary camp t-shirt, too! Please include your shirt size during registration.

Zoo Buddies: Enjoy an exciting learning adventure at the Zoo with your favorite stuffed Zoo Buddy. You and your Buddy get to know and interact with animals and go behind the scenes while discovering different aspects of the Zoo. Your buddy even gets to spend the night at the Zoo. Adult participants will receive a complimentary camp t-shirt, too! Please include your shirt size during registration.

Animal Alphabet: See the alphabet come alive as we encounter the variety of animals at the Zoo. Letters take on a new meaning when they walk toward or swim away from you. Can you find every letter of the alphabet living at the Zoo?

Number Safari: Numbers are everywhere at the Zoo! They are found in the ticket booths, animal diets, exhibits and even on signs. Join us as we discover that numbers are for more than just counting.

Who’s Who at the Zoo: Every animal at the Zoo belongs to a family. Learn about our animal’s characteristics and how to do basic classification of the Zoo animals in a fun and easy way.

Movers and Shakers: Rumble, run, squawk, and swing. How do the animals move around the Zoo? What sounds do they make while moving?  Listen your way through the Zoo and hear what all the chatter is about.

I Can Fly: I have wings and feathers, so can I fly? If I have a home in a tree, does that make me a bird? Help us discover the answer to these questions and more about the most colorful and secretive animals at the Zoo.

Design a Zoo: There is more to the Zoo than the animals. Can you create a new environment that will meet all the needs and wants of your favorite zoo animal? Find out how we build our habitats. Then become the director and architect of your own zoo.

World Traveler: Explore the animal world and never leave the Zoo. Discover cultures, environments, and terrain of our global zoo animals. Create your own passport based on your zoo travels.

Positively Predators: Predator or prey? Eat or be eaten? Or both? Locate where Zoo animals fall on the food chain using teeth and skulls. Even create a chain based on real bones.

Zoo Artist: Animals aren’t the only artists at our Zoo! Work with area artists to create your own Zoo art work using a variety of mediums each day. Search the Zoo to uncover the many ways that art is being used to tell zoo animal stories.

Zoo Detective: Something is missing at the Zoo! If you think you are a Super Sleuth join us to find what is missing. The answers are there if you know where to look.

Survivor: It’s a jungle out there! Would you be able to survive?  Out whit, out play, out last! Learn how animals have changed and what they need in order to survive.

Animal Training 101: Training is an important part of every animal’s care at the Zoo. Learn why training helps the animals, who does the training, and be a part of the training process by working with animals daily.

*Junior Zoo Keeper: Everybody wants to be a Keeper, but what do they do all day? Walk with Keepers, work with Keepers and learn hands-on ways they insure that our animals’ needs are being met every day. Spend the night at the Zoo and see how it comes alive after dark!

Registration

All programs require advance registration and openings are limited, so register early to avoid disappointment. Register online; no phone registrations will be accepted. You will receive confirmation of your registration.

Before and After Camp Care

Before and After Camp Care is available for Kids for Nature Summer Camp only. For more information contact the Zoo Education Department at 260-427-6808 or education@kidszoo.org.

Age & Cancellation Policy

Children must meet age requirements on the first day of all programs (no exceptions). Programs are held rain or shine. Refunds (minus 10% processing fee) are available if you cancel at least 2 weeks in advance. No refund if you cancel less than 2 weeks in advance. The zoo reserves the right to cancel camps with insufficient registration. In the event of such a cancellation, all of your fees will be refunded.
