Popular event offers 8 days of Merry Not Scary Kid Friendly Halloween Activities
The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo’s 42nd annual Wild Zoo Halloween opens Saturday, October 9. This popular event is hosted each weekend in October. Wild Zoo Halloween dates are October 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, 30-31 from 11 am to 3 pm and is free for Zoo members or paid Zoo admission. The event will feature your favorite Zoo animals*, family fun, and tasty treats that are just right for pint-sized guests.
Wild Zoo Halloween events include treat stations for your little goblins throughout the Zoo, watch as your favorite Zoo animals* celebrate the season with fall treats, chat with our keepers and learn how they care for the animals during the Creepy Creature Chats, head to the African Journey picnic pavilions for an interactive straw maze and holiday games, complete the Scavenger Haunt, and join our DJ in the Australian plaza for a monster of a good time with our family friendly dance party 11 am to 3 pm each weekend.
Kids are encouraged to wear costumes and bring their own treat bag. The Zoo is decorated for the holiday and features several photo spots where guests can take their own pictures.
All treats offered at the Wild Zoo Halloween are palm-oil free or are manufactured by companies that are members of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). The sustainable production of palm oil is crucial to the survival of orangutans, because their rain forest habitat is often destroyed to create poorly managed and unsustainable palm oil plantations.
Wild Zoo Halloween is FREE with paid Zoo admission or Zoo membership. Additional fees are charged for the Z.O.&O. Railroad, Endangered Species Carousel, Crocodile Creek Adventure Ride and Ski Safari. Weather permitting animal experiences* including Pony Trail, stingray feeding, giraffe feeding, and goat feeding will be available for a fee. Concessions will be open for food and drink purchases.
Complete details on all Wild Zoo Halloween events are available at kidszoo.org.

*Zoo animal experiences are weather permitting. As night time temperatures continue to decline during the fall, many of the Zoo animals may not be in their outdoor exhibits.
